Tripplix – a Bejeweled like game for Windows Mobile
We recently came across Tripplix from VanKurt Industries. It is a simple block puzzle game for Windows Mobile. There are many Bejeweled clones for windows mobile, what sets this apart from the rest ? Read on for the full review.
You start off the game with a 8×8 grid filled with 5 different colored blocks. The game is quite simple you have to drag the block around and if you get 3 or more block of the same color in a horizontal or vertical line ( no diagonal lines ) the blocks will disintegrate and you earn points and time. Oh yeah there is a timer that kicks off the moment you start the game and when it runs out its game over. The more blocks you break the more time and point you earn, you can also string combos together for more points. There are also special power-up blocks to help you along the way, which gets activated when those blocks are broken.
The available power ups are :
- Extra 100 Points
- 3×3 block breaker
- larger block breaker
- Time bonus
As the time goes by more colored blocks are thrown in to the mix and the time starts to run faster, this makes the gameplay quite challenging. If you are stuck halfway through the game there is a hint button to hep you out. The other interesting part of the app is the online high scores. Once the game is over, you can submit your score and check out the top players of the day, week, month or the all time high score.
The app is a let down in the sound department, a good music would have been great with this game. If you are in to puzzle game and love Bejeweled you will like this game. For €2.99 its an ok game. You get to try this game 3 time before you are required to purchase the app.

- Its might be boring after a while ( at least for non Bejeweled fans )
Possible Improvements :
- More difficulty settings / options
- Could use some Soundtrack for the game
