Prince of Persia HD 2.2 – action adventure game for windows mobile phone
is a good game, but sadly the hype spoiled it a little for me. It is quite enjoyable to play and a challenge to do as well but sadly it doesn’t quite match up with what was said about its graphics. I’m not so fussed by slightly pixelated images but when the info on windows mobile marketplace use phrases like “prepare for amazing acrobatics and fight gigantic monsters in 360°” and “gigantic 3D environments full of traps and secrets to discover” I expected slightly more than I got. It’s basically a platform game, going left and right or jumping or crawling. It reminded me of the sort of JAVA games I would play on the phones I had before I “grew up” and got a windows smartphone. Another thing is that the on screen controls are a bit fiddly and I require a stylus to feel confident with it.
The game does have its moments in 3D but the entire games does not have the 3D gameplay element to it. If they would have made the game in Landscape with the movement keypad on the left and the action keys on the right this game would have been a much better experience for gamers. All of that aside, the game is quite extensive and has a small plot wrapped around it. Overall, it’s a step in the right direction for Windows Mobile games; I just wish it had a real 3D world to wander about.
Tested On : Touch Pro2
Pros:
- Basic 3D platform style gaming.
- Story based game.
Cons:
- Not as good as the Marketplace led me to believe.
- Gets a bit tricky even on the easiest settings.
- On screen controls are a bit awkward.
- No landscape.
Possible Improvements:
- Landscape Support .. It will do wonders for the gameplay experience

Unfortunately there is no DEMO but you can always try the game from Marketplace and return it within 24hrs if you are not happy with the product. ( We haven’t given this a shot, will try it soon and report back on how it goes
