Jumba – colorful puzzle game for windows phone
Jumba is a colorful puzzle game for windows phone developed by VanKurt Industries it kind of falls under the Bejeweled clone series of games. These sort of puzzle games can be quite addictive lets find out if Jumba can be considered as a worthy puzzle game for windows mobile, read on for the full review of this windows mobile game.
The controls with the game are quite simple, the graphics are quite good and the sound effect complement the gameplay. The in game tutorial will give you the general idea on how to play the game and info regarding the powerups that you can use in the game. The idea behind the game is to get 5 or more balls of the same color in a line ( horizontal , vertical or diagonal ) once this happens the balls break and gives you points which you can accumulate. If you don’t break a link with a move additional balls pop up on the board. It starts off with 2 balls each time you dont break a line and gets incremented as the level goes up. You can chain the ball breaks which gives you added bonus.
PowerUps :
1) Joker – can take the color of any other balls
2) Stone – have to be broken twice to be eliminated from the board and cannot be moved ( turns white after first break )
3) Points Multiplier – multiples your points earned by 2 or 4
You can move the balls around by clicking on it and dragging it to the desired position. Note that the balls cannot jump over other balls and their path across the board is shown as you drag it along the board. The game ends if the board is full. Like with the other games by VanKurt Industries Jumba does have an online leaderboard and once the game is over, you can submit your score and check out the top players of the day, week, month or the all time high score.
The game supports 2 languages English and German and will only work with WVGA Screen devices. On the VGA screen some part of the screen gets cut off. For some reason the leader board says Top 12 but only shows you the top 10 scores. One other issue I found was that when in a game If I click on the area where the score is displayed the game crashes which is a major cause for concern ( If any of you guys try this game plz let me know if you have the same issue ). One thing I missed in this game was that there was no time restrictions, adding that element would have made this game much more interesting. All those issues aside I think the fans of this genre will still enjoy this title and the game theoretically offers endless gameplay to the user.
